Property Unit

The Dallas Police Department’s Property Unit is responsible for the receipt and storage of all property and evidence (excluding vehicles) which is retained by Departmental personnel.

Property which is not considered evidence, and has been approved for release by the investigating detective, may be released back to the owner.

The release of general property is restricted to the following times:

Tuesday – Friday 7 am – 7 pm

Saturdays 8 am – 3 pm

The release of currency[1], jewelry, and guns[2] is restricted to the following times:

Tuesday – Friday 8 am – 3 pm

THE PROPERTY UNIT IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC ON

SUNDAYS, MONDAYS, AND HOLIDAYS
