Abandoned Vehicles Auctions

Every other Monday, the City of Dallas Auto Pound auctions off all vehicles declared abandoned according to the Texas Transportation code Section 683 and the Dallas City Code, Chapter 2 and 28. Occasionally, due to some holidays on a Monday, the auction is rescheduled for the Tuesday following the holiday. The requirements to view and bid on the vehicles are:

  • A valid State issued identification card or driver's license
  • Mexican Consulate ID (Matricula Consular de Alta Seguridad (MCAS)
  • All auction attendees must register prior to auction
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • All sales are final
  • All items are sold "AS IS" with no warranties
  • Full payment must be made no later than an hour after the final vehicle is sold
  • No auction vehicles​ are driven from the lot
  • A licensed wrecker must tow all auction vehicles from the Auto Pound

VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED NO LATER THAN 11:59 PM THE DAY FOLLOWING THE AUCTION

The auctions are held at the Auto Pound at 1955 Vilbig Road, Dallas, TX 75208.​​
