The goal of the North Central Crime Reduction Team is to make a positive impact on crime reduction by answering critical calls for service, apprehending criminal suspects and assisting in special projects aimed to reduce crime. Criminal information can be forwarded to the Crime Reduction Team via I Watch, detailing suspect description and vehicle description (including year, make, model, and color) and any other pertinent information.
The goal is to positively impact crime using covert surveillance, fugitive apprehension and intelligence gathering. Officers have specific geographic responsibilities. The team consistently reviews offense and arrest reports for suspect information. Suspect information is passed to detectives, and utilized for the apprehension of criminal suspects. Covert Officers utilize various software packages and internet programs to accomplish this goal. Intelligence is a key component of the Deployment Team's operation.
